Alebrijes are brightly colored Mexican sculptures of fantastical creatures hand carved and hand painted by the people of OAXACA.
In Oaxaca, Mexico it is believed that every person has a spirit guide, protectors and mischief guide which they call ALEBRIJES which means "imaginary" or "fantasy".
These Alebrijes are hand carved and painted with exceptional paint schemes. Great for gifts, display and any occasion. Alebrijes are traditionally use for ofrendas "offerings" on el Dia de Los Muertos "Day of the Dead".
We strive to continue to bring a little of tradition, believes and culture of Mexico with our handmade imported products.

Beautifully hand crafted mini alebrijes. I work in a Spanish Immersion school, and anytime someone leaves, they get an alebrije so they'll always remember their tenure in our building.
